Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

mounted the bus at the terminus in Mamaia to find one of the floor hatches (unsecured except by gravity) lifted and the local fitter nipping one brake up. The noise of the diffs on the average Romanian trolley or selfpowered bus can hardly be imagined. The rasping, tearing noise of turtured bevel wheels could be heard far away under power, while the regenerative braking of the trolley-buses made the same din when braking.

Tourist coaches were of a much higher standard, many being Irannational, Mercedes made under licence in Iran, whose weaker currency made it easier to buy there. There were also luxury Sanos whose origin I do not know, and the odd elderly Fiat in good order.

Local and long-distance passenger stock was much inferior, many being rear-engined DAC with the aforementioned V8 petrol engine at the rear with a manual, presumably synchro, box, nearly all being run with the rear access hatch open to let the heat out. There were many articulated lkarus city buses with a neat convoluted connection between and a complicated scissors-type lever supporting from above.

They did not appear to have self-steering in the trailed section, but one in Bucharest was observed with the trailed section badly out of track and the rear axle was a couple of feet nearer the kerb than the front. These lkarus had the rim-type wheels similar to International trucks, with great spoked hubs.

A few Soviet buses were seen, in particular one with a very crude installation on the roof of a Thermo-King-type air conditioner—just a square box with no attempt at fairing in neatly. Satra buses fror Czechoslovakia were seen, ir cluding one with a large twc wheeled trailer laden with boat5 Most of the 25/ 30cwt van on local delivery in the Mamai area were, surprisingly, foul wheel-drive, one wonders if Bi Brother boobed in the orderin department, or perhaps there i some modern WD subsid scheme for call-up in time c need. The most wasteful use c technology observed was 4 X 4 DAC refrigerated va being used on city streets dE livering potatoes and other ye from its uncooled interior.
