CARRYFAST is continuing its expansion programme by appointing three new operations managers. Geoffrey Ellis takes over at the Dewsbury depot, Paul Berridge at the London depot in Islington, and Brian Jones at Stockport.

Nigel Sherburn and Tom MacKenzie have been appointed sales executives based in Stockport and Glasgow respectively.

George Wood has retired as transport manager from the Site Services Division of GKN Screws & Fasteners Ltd, after 50 years in the industry. He has been succeeded by Mr C. M. Hampson, who was previously transport manager at Milton Keynes Development Corporation.

Stephen Barber has taken over as traffic operations manager at National Holidays' head office in Sheffield. He joins National from Wallace Arnold where he was assistant traffic manager.

Dan Donovan is also moving to National Holidays, to become South East area representative. Robert Iles, however, has been promoted within the National Bus Corn pany, and has left his position as assistant engineer at National Travel (South East) Ltd, to take up a new post as assistant chief engineer with Eastern National Omnibus Co Ltd.

North Sea ro-ro operator Tor Line Ltd has appointed David Hobbs and Dennis Wood as joint managers of its UK Freight Sales and Marketing Department at Immingham.

The new appointments have been made to meet additional responsibilities taken on by the department, through the new Tor Line/Ellerman pooled services from the Humber to Gothenburg and Halmstad.

Mr Hobbs will be responsible for Continental and Danish traffic as well as marketing and administration. Mr Wood will control Swedish traffic, and Tor Line's UK Field Sales operation. He will also coordinate "pool" sales.

R. L. Griffiths has retired from his position as group transport manager at Small & Co (Lowestoft) Ltd. His position has been filled by Pat Bowler.

Vic Scrivener has moved up within Tate & Lyle Transport Ltd, to become managing director of McIntyre Ltd, a subsidiary company specialising in selling and servicing Bedford lorries. , Mr Scrivener was previously divisional engineer for Tate & Lyle Transport Ltd's contracts division.

Malcolm Burton is chief engineer in the automatic transmission division of Trist Draper Ltd, makers of friction materials for automotive railway and industrial applications.

Chester City Transport's new traffic superintendent is David Armstrong. He has moved to his new position from Merseyside Transport South Division where he was senior schedules officer.

The newly created post of accessory manager at Radiomobile Ltd, has been filled by Victor Adams. Mr Adams will be responsible for pricing and marketing the company's range of accessories, including components for car audio equipment.

John Midlane, formerly operations director at Rentco Ltd, is now director and general manager of Rentco Nationwide Trailers Ltd, a subsidiary of Crane Fruehauf Ltd.

James Corcoran has been promoted from deputy managing director to managing director of Adamson Containers Ltd. Part of the Acrow Group, Adams achieved the highest pere tage increase in profits wit the group last year.
