Narrow MP cab to be at Brum

A NEW "narrow cab" from Motor Panels of Coventry will be unveiled at the NEC in two weeks' time.

Described by Bob Allen, technical director of the company, as being aimed at the light and medium-weight sectors of the lorry market (7-16 tons gvw), the new cab will be offered in both day and sleeper-cab forms.

Designed with export in mind, the main sub-assemblies can be shipped abroad either completely knocked down or part assembled. The main subassemblies are self locating which Motor Panels claim enables fast and accurate final assembly with unskilled labour and without the need for complex and costly jigs.

Although some 200mm (7.9in) narrower than the standard Motor Panels cab used by Fodens and Shelvoke and Drewry for example, the new model incorporates some 90 per cent of the bigger cabs set of panels.
