Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

LEYLAND Vehicles lost around Elm worth of lorry sales due to the seven week stoppage at its Bathgate plant, but efforts are being made now to make up lost ground.

LV's Medium and Light Vehicle divisional sales and marketing director Ian Wilson said: "The strike cost us dearly, even although the market share held firm largely because of the highly successful way in which distributors operated a stock location system."

"This allowed us to meet most immediate needs of customers," he said.

Speaking last week, he said the main problems now facing the division were a rapid need to replenish United Kingdom field stocks and to catch up on a backlog of outstanding orders.

Mr Wilson described these ozders as coming from "patient and understanding customers."

An LV spokesman would not comment on current delivery dates for Bathgate products, but did say that resumption of work had come "in the nick of time."

"We hope we can get production going sufficiently rapidly so we can continue to put forward good delivery quotes against new business, he said.
