• Providing a coach company's application finds favour in the eyes of the Traffic Commissioners, the town of Winsford in Cheshire is likely to become one of the first in the North-West area with a privately owned minibus service operating within its boundaries.
The application is to be made shortly by the firm of Nova Scotia Mini-coaches. It is planned to run the service during off-peak hours, making regular 20-minute trips to the town centre from Winsford's six major housing estates. There will also be runs to outlying districts.
The proprietor, Mr G. Blake, told CM that his firm can give a comprehensive service to the town and surrounding districts. The fare will be 5p and the company would be prepared to operate a token system for pensioners if Winsford urban district council would be prepared to provide a subsidy.
