AT A ONE-DAY seminar on "Human Relations" (held at Fanshaws, Brickenden, Herts) last week, Mr L. Boreham, education officer of the Institute of the Motor Industry, said it was hoped a long series of seminars, each dealing with a different management subject, would be held.
The Institute regarded training, especially management training, as one of its essential functions. Annual residential courses lasting a week were held for senior managers and directors and middle management personnel.
The series of one-day seminars, suitable probably for all levels, would enable particular aspects of management to be dealt with in more depth than was possible at the other courses. All courses ranked for grants.
Last week's course was addressed by Dr S. K. Man stead, deputy principal, and Mr W. A. G. Braddick, assistant director of studies respectively, at Ashridge Management College. It was well received by the 15 motor trade representatives present.
Three of the members of the Road Transport Industry Training Board are members of the IMI, on which commercial vehicle manufacturers and traders are well represented. The Board's director and education officer have expressed "great satisfaction" with the Institute's work in the field of training for the industry.
