Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

Efor the carriage of "excavated muck and rubbish" for two firms within 25-miles of King's Cross Station, London, were granted to four London hauliers by the Metropolitan deputy LA, Mr C. J.

MacDonald, last week.

The applicants were: Mr Daniel Ryan, of Palatinate Estate, New Kent Road, and Mr Patrick Considine and Mr James Considine, both of Wickersley Road, Battersea, who each required the licence for one vehicle, and Mr Martin Considine, of Upper Tooting Park, Balham, who required it for two vehicles.

For the applicants, Mr James Amphlett had said that in their application they sought to be allowed to carry excavated materials and clearance rubbish within 25 miles of King's Cross and this was opposed by three objectors.

But it had been agreed between the two sides that the objections would be withdrawn if the conditions were amended to the carriage of excavated muck and rubbish for L. Stritton and Co. Ltd., of Clova Road, Forest Gate, London, and St. Mary's Transport Ltd., of Sussex Way, Upper Holloway, London, within 25 miles of King's Cross.

After Mr MacDonald had agreed to the amended conditions, Mr Matthew Thorpe, representing Saunders Transport Ltd., St. Albans Sand and Gravel Co. Ltd., and W. and H. Poultney Ltd., withdrew In support of the applications, Mr Amphlett handed in letters from L. Stritton and Co. Ltd., and St. Mary's Transport Ltd., in which they referred to the difficulty of obtaining contractors to clear rubbish from sites.
