ATLAS EXPRESS has secured a base in Malvern, Worcs, by taking over West Midland Haulage (Malvern) Ltd. The West Midland Licensing Authority has authorized the transfer of the Malvern company's four vans and two lorries, one carrying a container. '

West Midland Haulage was formed in 1965 as a subsidiary of Lockyer's Transport, Malvern, on the suggestion of Mr. C. S. Dunbar, who had been called in as a consultant. West Midland developed a smalls business between the Black Country and Bristol.

The directors of AFS (Shipping) Ltd. made an offer for control of West Midland in 1966, which the Lockyer family accepted. AFS having gone into liquidation, West Midland became involved and a creditors' meeting has been held.
