W/ORK on the new plant of the Crane W Freuhauf Trailer Co., Ltd., of North Walsham, is proceeding to schedule and it is anticipated that production of standard Crane 8-18-ton semi-trailers will he transferred from the South Green works of Cranes (Dereham), Ltd., gradually from next January.
The Crane Freuhauf company was formed last May and the work now in progress is the first stage of a phased production p rog r a mm e, leading eventually to the full introduction and incorporation, where practicable for the U.K. market, of Freuhauf designs from the U.S.A. into Crane assemblies.
Initially, all semi-trailers within the range of 8-18 tons, now manufactured by Cranes (Dereham), Ltd., at Dereham, and to be manufactured by Crane Freuhauf Trailer Co., Ltd., at North Walsham, when the plant is operative, will be standard Crane designs, but carrying the new Crane Freuhauf label.
The eventual addition of new semitrailer models from Crane Freuhauf Trailer Co„ Ltd., will not, in any way, make any current Crane trailers obsolete. A full after-sales service and spares supply will be maintained.
