Figures recently issued show that during last year 167 tractors, valued at ±31,602, were imported by South Africa, of which 156, valued at 126,910, came from the United States. The remaining eleven machines are stated to he agents' demonstrating equipment. The American monopoly is attributed to efficient service facilities, a powerful sales factor in the Union. The increase in cotton planting in Natal and the Trans-vaal is said to account for the revival In the tractor trade.
