Colonel Sir Joseph Nall, D.S.O., T.D., M.P., was inducted as president of the Institute of Transport at the first meeting of the season held in London yesterday (Monday).
Sir Joseph was born in 1887, and is a director of Joseph Nall and Co., Ltd., carriers and L.M. and S. Railway agents for Manchester, Liverpool and Lancashire towns. He is also a director oE the Llandudno and Colwyn Bay Electric Railway, Ltd., and the Linby Colliery Co., Ltd., of Nottingham.
He is Unionist member of Parliament for Hulme, Manchester, having sat for that constituency since 1918. He was Parliamentary Private Secretary to the Right Hon, W. C. Bridgeman, M.P., 1919-1920, and was a member of the Select Committee of the MAWR of Commons on London Traffic.
During the war he served in Egypt, Gallipoli and France, and was mentioned in despatches.
Be is a director of the Manchester Chamber of Commerce and a member of the council of the Institute of Transport.
