• Tesca is adding another 50 Ford Transit insulated panel vans to its home delivery service fleet. After operating a triple-compartment pilot vehicle that carried foodstuffs at ambient, chilled and frozen temperatures Tesco has turned to Framfield, East Sussex bodybuilder RVL to carry out the conversion work.
The front half of the body holds ambient goods and is separated by a fixed bulkhead while the other section has a divider separating chilled from frozen,
It is built to ATP Class-C standard with a K factor of 0.3WM°C using a Carrier Zephyr 20s/1 reefer unit with a fan to transfer cold air
from the frozen to chilled com partments.
