SEEN en route overland to Kuwait are these Volvo N10/Nooteboom tractive unit/grain trailer combinations, the first of a total order of 205 units.

They will be operated by Philippine-Singapore Ports Corporation hauling grain between Kuwait and Baghdad.

Supplied by Swedish Automotive Products Ltd, the Volvos are powered by the TD100G engine driving through an eight-speed gearbox to the 26-tonnes hub reduction bogie.

The Nooteboom grain trailers feature bottom, rear and overhead suction discharge and have been equipped with a fuel tank giving a combined fuel tank capacity of 980 litres (215 gals).
