TO be exhibited by Watson Bros. (Airdrie), Ltd., at the Scottish Motor Show, which opens in Glasgow next 'Friday, a new 12-seat passenger vehicle produced by Martin Walter, Ltd., 145-147 Sandgate Road, Folkestone, is based on the Bedford CAL 15-cwt. chassis. The vehicle is known as the Utilabus and complies with Construction and Use regulations_ It has a raised translucent plastics roof to give adequate headroom.
Separate front seats are provided for the driver and one passenger. Six forward-facing seats are fitted immediately behind the driver's compartment and two longitudinal bench seats at the rear accommodate a further four passengers. The vehicle has rear and side _doors equipped with steps, and ventilation is by two extractor-type roof-mounted units.
Standard equipment includes a heater and demister unit, guard rails 'at the lower body sides and a parcel shelf in the front compartment.
As described, the Utilabus costs £770, or with all seating in the rear compartment on inward-facing benches, £750.
