delivery vehicles had improved greatly but there were still too many unsuitable small vans being used. This statement was made by Prof. A. B. Semple, Liverpool Medical Officer of Health, in his annual report. Old methods and ideas died hard and some 'aspects of meat delivery still caused concern, he added.
Small traders often took serious chances by using obsolete and unsatisfactory means for transport. Some even used private cars. It was a matter which required serious attention, he stated.
