Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

ONLY long-distance traffic will use the proposed new central bus station in York. It will not be employed by YorkWest Yorkshire Services, the undertaking operating in the city and affiliated to the West Yorkshire Road Car Co., Ltd.

This was stated on Monday at a meeting of York City Council. It was revealed that no agreement had been reached with the railways for the acquisition of suitable land for the station. This was at the old York railway station in Queen Street, in exchange for which land for sidings in the Cambridge Street area was offered.

Ald. R. Scruton said that the railways had suggested a prohibitive sum for the deal, FIRST MULTI-STOREY GARAGE AT WOOLWICH

A CONTRACT has been obtained by

Auto-Stackers, Ltd., for the construction of the first fully automatic multistorey garage in the United Kingdom. The garage will be built for the Borough of Woolwich and will be leased to Shell Mex and B.P., Ltd., and Dagenham Motors, Ltd., who will be responsible for sales of fuel and other garage facilities.

Major interests in Auto-Stackers, Ltd., have been obtained by John Brown and Co., Ltd., and Standard Telephones and Cables. Ltd., and the company have been granted world-wide rights and licences for the Auto-Stacker method of parking cars and stacking large palleted commodities in warehouses.

LEY LANDS FOR NEW YORK SHOW

TWO vehicles are to be sown by Leyland Motors (U.S.A.), Ltd., at the British Exhibition which opens in the Coliseum, New York, U.S.Al. on June 10. They will be a four-wheeled CH3AXL Chieftain with 13-ft. 6-in. wheelbase and a gross vehicle weight of 24,000 lb., and a 12-ft.-wheelbase Clydesdale.

The Chieftain is powered by the newly developed direct-injection oil engine which has an output of 94 b.h.p. at 2.200 r.p.m. The Clydesdale will be shown with the 0.375 engine.

BEDFORD COACHES FOR L.C.C. QIX Bedford-Duple 15-seat coaches are NJ being delivered today to the L.C.C. Supplies Department. They are based on Bedford J2 3-ton normal-control chassis, converted to forward-control by Duple Motor Bodies, Ltd. In addition to the passenger seats, there is an attendant's seat by the driver. A folding step is provided at the passenger entrance.

SUNKEN SERVICE AREA

ALOW-LEVEL service area for the use of vehicles discharging or taking on loads from premises in High Street, Falkirk, has been approved by the council. It is included in a redevelopment scheme which will cost £500,000.

Goods vehicles will enter the shopping centre from an access way and descend a ramp.
