• Reading-based Tawny Transport has taken delivery of four new MAN 18.224F 17-tonnem for its long-distance distribution operation throughout the UK and the Continent.
Transport Enterprises added the 26ft (7.92m) GRP van bodies which have self-locking roller shutter doors for extra security—they're specially padded to protect the expensive goods that Tawny carries.
Off-loading is via 2.0 tonne Anteo cantilever tail-lifts which are self-levelling and can be programmed to memorise platform positions.
Tawny has also added Psion computers and data communication equipment to provide an instant link between drivers and controllers.
