Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

PANTOMIMES in Coventry and Birmingham were -so popular, Mr. L. W. A. White told the East Midland Licensing Authority, that seats were sometimes booked a year ahead. He was presenting an application by Viking Motors (Burton), Ltd., Derby, to run coach excursions to pantomimes in the two Midland cities, The company proposed to book seats as part of the excursions.

The manager of a Derby ticket agency said that there were no cheap railway excursions on Friday nights, when the demand for travel to pantomimes was particularly great. He would be able to book 500 seats a week throughout the season if the licence were granted.

The railways admitted that a case had been made out, but asked that only passengers buying theatre tickets from the Viking company should travel on

the coaches. Trent Motor Traction Co.. Ltd., maintained that the demand could be met by contract carriages.

Granting the application, the Licensing Authority ruled that not more than six vehicles were to be used to either destination and that no excursions were to be run on a Saturday.
