months, the Minister of Transport has upheld appeals by Messrs. Charles Davies and Sons, Talgarffi, Brecon, against decisions of the South Wales Licensing Authority.
The appellants contested the refusal of a licence for a stage service between Llaneglwys and Brecon, via Pencaemelin and Garthbrengy, and the grant of a licence for a new stage service from Brecon to Llaneglwys. via Llanddew, to Mr. D. J. Brown, Builth Wells. The case was heard by Mr. W. Tudor Davies at Cardiff on October 21, 1952.
The Minister has ordered the Licensing Authority to revoke Mr. Brown's licence and to grant a licence to Messrs. Davies. He declares that the decision "is based entirely on the merits of the two applications . . . and is in no wise related to or founded upon allegations of partiality on the part of the Licensing Authority which were made at the inquiry." Conditions may be imposed on the new licence.
