QUBSTANTIAL orders for Daimler s.-) buses have been received in the past two months from Belgium, Greece, India, Norway, Spain and West Africa, Bombay Electric Supply and Transport undertaking has demanded 40 chassis. These will bring its Daimler fleet to a strength of 375. Twenty of these vehicles will be CVG 5 models with 19-ft. wheelbases, whilst the remainder will be Freeline underfloor-engined chassis. All vehicles will have Gardner five-cylindered oil engines and Daimler fluid transmission. Bodies will be fitted in India. New orders from Norway for 29 Freeline chassis bring the demand for this type from that country to 40. Daimler 10.6-litre engines and power-assisted steering are specified. Kumasi Town Council, Gold Coast, is to buy nine Freeline and three CVG 6 models. Greek orders are for 10 CD 650 chassis and 10 Freelines. Four more CD 650 chassis are to be sent to Spain, and 12 Freeline models to Belgium.
