AFTER full consultation with the Area committees, the Passenger Vehicle Operators' Association has submitted to the Thesiger Committee a comprehensive memorandum. It deals with the following matters:—
The object and scope of the licensing system; licensing of public service vehicles, road services, drivers and conductors; OrganiZatiOn (traffic areas and Licensing Authorities); procedure (publicity and objections); appeals; considerations governing the granting and refusal of licences; conditions attached to 1 icenees; enforcement: contract carriages; special provisions affecting local authorities services; hire cars; camp and special services.
Oral evidence was given to the Thesiger Committee this week.
