supporter MP Robert Halfon attempted to reignite government interest in getting fuel duty itemised on fuel receipts earlier this week, by displaying a giant receipt outside Parliament. The banner showed what an ideal fuel receipt would look like, with tax, duty and VAT clearly displayed.
Meanwhile, FFUK founder Peter Carroll said more than 32,000 people have signed a petition for an investigation into the impact of alleged oil price fixing on UK businesses. The petition, set up in May in the wake of a series of raids by EU regulators on firms involved with the oil sector across Europe (including Shell, BP, Statoil and Platts), calls on UK regulators to launch investigations into allegations of price fixing and the effects it has had on businesses and the UK economy.
