Welcome to Laurie Dealer's used truck of the week. Each week our man inside the used truck trade picks out a truck or trailer from CM's online classified list. This week, it's a Volvo FH12.500 Globetrotter Words: Laurie Dealer OUR FAVOURITE used truck this week is a 2010-plate 6x2 Volvo FH12.500 Globetrotter tractor unit.
It is fitted with the Euro-5 D13C nominal 12.8-litre six-cylinder engine, which produces 500hp of power and 2,500Nm torque. It also comes with a 12-speed I-Shift transmission, Volvo engine brake, a sliding fifth-wheel and colour-coded bumper and door mirrors.
The Globetrotter cab includes airconditioning, full leather seat trim, fridge and central locking.
According to the vendor, Essex-based Hanbury Riverside, the truck is one of three. Registered GL10 FYG, the truck has done more than 289,000km in its first life.
In the current climate, with Euro-6 on the horizon, this is the sort of used truck that commands a premium. It ticks all the boxes: late-year, decent mileage, clean, good-sized and well specified cab, and a strong driveline. Operators are crying out for this type of truck, so you'll need to get in early before it's snapped up by a rival.
