Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

My name is Libby Cross: I'm a producer on a new BBC Radio 4 series called On This Day which, from July, will be winding the clock back to 1946 and revisiting the stories and people making the news 50 years ago.

One of the big stories I'm covering from August 1946 is the campaign waged by road haulage companies against nationalisation of the industry. A film produced by the Road Haulage Association was premiered that month as part of the campaign. Of course, the campaign was unsuccessful and the industry was indeed nationalised for several years.

I'm keen to talk to anyone who took part in the campaign in 1946, or who remembers the film being premiered. Perhaps your firm was one of those up in arms about the proposal, or perhaps welcomed it as an end to financial difficulties?

Whatever your involvement, I'd be very grateful if you would get in contact with me. Please give me a call on 0161 244 4169 or write tomcat: On This Day, Room 2121, BBC North, Oxford Road, Manchester, M601SJ.
