• The Garage Equipment Association 1GEA) plans to set up a commercial vehicle liaison group.
The move has been prompted by increasing need for specialised equipment in CV workshops because of legislation and the increasing use of high-tech components.
The GEA has also taken over the publishing of a monthly list of approved gas analysers for MoT tests. It will give details of the petrol exhaust gas analysers which have been approved by the Vehicle inspectorate for use in MoT tests.
The lists were previously published by the VI. They are intended to inform purchasers which equipment is acceptable to the Inspectorate and are not buyers guides, says the GEA.
