THE ROAD Haulage Associatiol is looking urgently at its va cancy for an industrial relation officer, following the death las month of Chris Dixon.
An RHA spokesman said thi week that the possiblity of al internal appointment has no been ruled out. Mr Dixon's du ties are being carried out at pre sent by executive officer Doul Taylor.
The spokesman also con firmed that the RHA nationE council has voted to strengthei its regional wage negotiatin! machinery, including the join industrial councils which cam. in for some flak at last year' conference in Scarborough rather than seek a return ti national negotiations.
This move has been we corned by trades unions, espE daily in areas such as Norther England where the present nE gotiating structure is weak.
