A NEW cylinder head design specifically for lpg is now ay; able on option for all Ft Transits powered by the t1 litre ohc petrol engine.
The normal warranty is un fected on engines converted approved agents, and t recommended retaifprice is £ excluding vat.
The cylinder head has al been developed for operati with lead-free fuel.
Lead compounds are norms added to petrol to make it mc suitable for high compressi engines as it depresses "knoc and lubricates the valve seats.
When these lead compoun are removed, premature val seat wear can result — a prc lem also associated with lpg.
Ford claims that this problE is overcome with the new cyl der head which features inct tion hardened valve seats.
