Northern England

A1(M): Contraflow traffic will be in operation until mid-November a 5.6-mile section from north of the Blind Lane interchange (A167 nester-le-Street) to south of the Carrville interchange.

Ml: There is southbound carriageway resurfacing between juncDns 28 (Leyland) and 29 (Preston) until July. An alternative route is a A6 and A49 to junction 28.

Midlands

M6: Major roadworks have begun between junctions 9 (Wednesury) and 10 (Walsall), with junction 10 closed completely. The orthbound entry and exit roads at junction 9 are also closed. Work as begun on the southbound carriageway and consequently, drivrs are using the northbound carriageway.

Al: The Fasten by-pass in Lincolnshire will have its northbound arriageway closed until late June.

Ml: Until early October there will be continuous 24-hour two-way -affic on one carriageway from junction 16 (Northampton West) for )ur miles towards Watford Gap.

M6: Until August, all traffic is sharing one carriageway betweei junction 1 (Rugby) and junction 2 (M69 Coventry).

South-east England : Contraflow traffic is in operation for 16 miles from Watforr Gap services southwards to two miles south of junction 15 unti November, For part of the time, sliproads to and from the south bound carriageway will be closed at junctions 15 and 16, but not a the same time.

A3: There are extensive road improvement works south of Guild ford between the Wooden Bridge and The Cathedral turn-off unti mid-August. Delays and serious congestion are expected.

Braintree: The carnival and procession starts at 2.30pm on Satur day, June 6. There are no diversionary routes planned, so traffi should avoid the Essex town if possible.

London: The second rehearsal for the trooping of the colour take place at Horse Guards Parade in London on June 6, and seven streets will be closed from 9am.

On Tuesday, June 9 many streets in Westminster will be close, from 11.35am to 2pm due to a state visit. The Automobile Associe tion warns drivers to avoid central London between these times.

Wales and the West

M5: There are numerous roadworks and lane closures from jun( tion 14 north of Bristol to the end of the motorway. Delays ar possible if traffic is heavy.

Due to partial structural collapse of the Boars Head Inn at Chest( Street, Mold, a temporary one-way system has been introduced i Mold Town Centre for an indefinite period. Through traffic shoul avoid the area.
