Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

THE QUESTION of what standards and qualifications are necessary for entry into the field of road passenger operations is to be discussed by a new advisory committee for road passenger transport management authorisation.

The committee intend to discuss the standards relevant for all aspects of entry into the profession. They will set down guidelines on whether an applicant is financially sound, professionally competent, and a fit and proper person to hold such a position.

The members of the committee are Mr A E Beckenham, from the CIT; Mr I Cunningham, Mr A Newman, Mr R Whittle from ECBO; and Mr M Lees from the RTITB. The Chairman is Mr G Wilmot and the Secretary Mr J F Hooper.

Whether or not this country remains in the EEC it is likely that the committee will recommend that minimum standards of professional competence are laid down.
