Ranging from pedestrian-controlled electric 'street-orderly trucks, through refuse vehicles of all capacities to the largest exhibit, a 30-cu-yd. bulk refuse body mounted on a Leyland Octopus chassis, the exhibits cover all aspects of the work of local authorities.

Though innovations to be seen at the display will in general be limited to refinements incorporated in equipment previously shown, there will be a few vehicles which have not previously been exhibited. A system of refuse collection which is said to be entirely new to this country will be shown by the Yorkshire Engineering and Welding Co. No details are being released before the exhibition day and delegates will have the fir,st opportunity to inspect this new equipment. At the other end of the scale a miniature side-loading refuse vehicle will be shown for the first time by the Ford Motor Co., Ltd.

The vehicle display will take place on Wednesday, with 25 manufacturers demonstrating their products. Twelve suppliers of earth-moving equipment will have the opportunity to show their appliances on the following day.

A Dennis Paxit Major 11 with a crew cab will be shown, along with the smaller Paxit II fitted with bin-lifting gear to enable it to deal with refuse storage containers. Other exhibits will be a Fax short-wheelbase chassis with a Shefflex 1g-cu.-yd. low-loading forward-and-rearward tipping body and a 12-cu.-yd. sideloader with a six-seat crew cab, also on a Pax chassis.

Adapted from their Speedyload design, a bin-lifting version of this body, known as the Easyload. will be among the exhibits of the Eagle Engineering Co.. Ltd. Mounted on an Austin 7-ton forward-control oil-engined chassis, it permits dustless and rapid loading of storage containers.

Compressmore bodies of 16-24-cu.-yd. and 12-20-cu.-yd. capacities will be shown by Eagle on Bedford 6-ton and Thames

Trader 7-ton chassis respectively. Crew cabs are fitted on both vehicles and the Thames-based model incorporates a rotating salvage compartment, which will be on view for the first time.
