• Brighton Borough Transport has bought Campings Luxury Coaches of Portslade. The Carryings coaching business was set up in 1922 and has nine coaches to add to BBTs fleet of 70.
All staff at its Portslade depot have been taken on by the new owners and will continue to work from that depot under the control of transport manager John Huber. Richard Clark, managing director of Brighton Borough Transport, says the company will concentrate on contracts with factories, offices and schools. "We are very conscious of the long association Campings has had with many contract customers and we intend to maintain close links with these customers and to develop new contract work," he says.
