• Bickfords of Wolverhampton, which acquired a former Royal Ordance transport depot in Featherstone near Wolverhampton in 1979, has finally won a 10-year, £150,000 legal battle to use it as a transport depot.
The company has fought five public inquiries for the right to
develop the land owned by the family for four centuries. Now Bickford has won planning permission for the site, which includes 1,400m2 of warehousing, a workshop and offices. Bickford plans to spend a further £1 million on the development, including additional warehousing space.
