WORK STARTED this week on the Dover Harbour Board's £1.6m freight drivers' complex which is expected to be ready by Easter next year.
The single-storey complex, next to the existing import freight building at Dover, will have a waitress-service restaurant, a lounge and television area, international phones, a Les Routiers shop and sales area, and toilet and shower facilities for male and female drivers.
The Customs clearance computerised information service will be extended to the new complex which has been designed with information gleaned from interviews With a cross-section of drivers.
