CM next month manager for E
THE SUCCESSOR to lain Sherriff, Commercial Motor's editor for the past nine years, has been named. He is Allan Winn, a New Zealander with strong background in engineering journalism, and he joins the magazine on August 19.
After graduating from the University of Canterbury, Christchurch, in mechanical engineering and journalism Mr Winn came to Britain in 1974 to work as a freelance
journalist, contributing features to titles including The Engineer and Works Management.
A year later he was appointed technical editor of the monthly magazine The Consulting Engineer.
Since 1977 he has worked on the weekly business magazine which became New Technology last year. When the publication was launched as Engineering Today he was employed as technical editor. In 1978 he became editor and then a year later he was appointed to his present job of managing editor.
lain Sherriff has a new role with CM'S publishing company, Business Press International, which will include editing special publications for the journal, organising conferences, seminars and a drivers' club, and establishing a unit of engineers, traffic managers and drivers to work with disaster relief agencies. THE NEWLY created tion of group marketing ager of British Road Se has been filled by a marl consultant, Peter Parry.
In his new job Mr will be responsible to: veloping the road trar and distribution coin' truck rental and contrac services.
Additionally, he will charge of marketing I bership services, includir AA/BRS Rescue Service of providing central keting support for BRS Deering services.
He joins the Na Freight Consortium sidiary from PA Manag( Consultants, where worked for three years.
