A rechargeable dry chemical fire extinguisher from Van Dusen contains a free-flowing potassium bicarbonate dry chemical substance which is claimed to control flammable liquid and electrical fires twice as effectively as conventional dry extinguishants. The manufacturer claims that it will not conduct electricity, is non-abrasive, is non-toxic and odourless and has a temperature operating range balween 40 to 120def F.
