AS from September 1. different rates of tariff are to be imposed on a variety of goods, following recent negotiations at Torquay. Leaf springs and leaves will be subject to a 20-per-cent. tariff, compared with 331 per cent. as at present. Track-laying tractors, other than those used for hauling or pushing implements, will bear a 15-per-cent. duty, compared with 33i per cent, at present.
OBITUARY
WE regret to record the death of WV MR. R. F. McKaY, former manager of the Dunlop inventions and patents department. He was 67.
MR. M. D. AYRE, head of Messrs. M. D. Ayre and Son, hauliers, Yarmon-Tees. He was 63.
MR. S. GRIMSHAW. who died in hospital on June 28, at the age of 60. He had been acting advertising manager with the Ford Motor Co., Ltd., since last year, which company he joined over 32 years ago.

MR. G. GEOFFREY SMITH. who died on June 29, age 66. He was a director of the Associated Iliffe Press, Ltd.
MR. W. R. WHEELER, who was a director of Clifford Motor Components, Ltd., who died on June 22.
