The TGA tipper range has made a hesitant start in the UK market. Shown at last year's CV Show, the range of eight-wheelers has struggled to make a market showing, basically because it's too heavy for the requirements of the majority of users. Hefty German design and a big cab means TGA can't be competitive at the weighbridge and, despite undoubted performance from the engine line-up — new D20 now available —can't make in-roads into MAN 's tradiliona I muckaway market sector.
A high mounted cab gives driver excellent view of the road and the utilitarian cab is well suited to the rigours of off-road activity, though like many "European"-designed multi-wheelers, not a roaring success over here.
REASONS Rugged design Superb new engines Too heavy Hard ride character VERDICT Worth a look as a muckaway alternative
