MAN's ultra lightweight 6x4 offers huge payload potential for 26-tonne aggregate operations. Powered by 280hp version of the 6.9-litre sixcylinder engine, the LE280 is a bit short on performance far tough terrain ape ration but, matched to a nine-speed Eaton transmission, it's adequate for general duties.
The small cab is easyto clean and gives a perception of being able to poke in anywhere, hut its low on thrills and in-cab comfort, not one of the MAN six-wheeler's strengths. The model's overdue a replacement; an overhaul of the range is due in spring this year. This may mean there's some scope for bargaining over price on current offering.
