• Creditors owed over £320,000 after the collapse of Warwickshire-based Express Freight Services have been told there is little chance of a New Year pay-out.
The creditors meeting held last month for the ltchingdonbased 18-vehicle haulier and freight forwarder was told that the costs of winding the business up after the voluntary liquidation meant it was likely there would be nothing left for trade creditors. Siena Sealink is the biggest loser; it is owed over £98,000. Next follows Central Trailer Rentco which is owed £28,000 and Truckline Ferries at £19,000.
The company ran into trouble when it lost work for the storage and transport of Peugeot Talbot car parts.
Express Freight Services' sister company Express Freight France SA continues to trade. It was set up as an agent to deal with French suppliers.
