It is proposed to delete certain require ments relating to ground clearance and life guards, dating back to the time when specia provision had to be made for the safety a train-cars. This should enable chassis and body builders to develop buses with a lower loadinj platform and centre of gravity, thereby lowerinj the step height of entrances and exits and im proving stability.

Another prohibition which it is proposed t, remove is that against the use of vehicles wit left-hand drive.

It is hoped that the new regulations wi come into effect next summer.
