rLERICAL staff of the Grimsby and
Cleethorpes Joint Transport Undertaking are to be informed that their request for a 38-hour, five-day week will not be granted. The general manager, Mr. J. Rostron, has been instructed to inform members of NALGO who had asked for the shorter working week that the committee considers the present 101-day fortnight should be continued.
Pointing out that a five-day week would be impracticable, Councillor W. Solomon said that staff working on Saturday mornings would have to he paid overtime, which amounted to an indirect increase in salaries. Mr Rostron said it would be "quite impracticable" not to have any staff in or Saturday mornings.
