Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

A N associated company of the Anglo-lranian Oil Co., Ltd., Benzin en Petroleum Handel Maatschappij N.V., of Holland; has recently taken delivery of six Leyland Comet oil-engined tankers, designed and constructed by W. B. Sawn and Co., Ltd., of Byron Works, Blackhorse Lane, London, E.17.

With a capacity of 6,000 litres (1,325 gallons) the tankers will be used for

transporting petrol, oil fuel and light viscous liquids, and a special compartment is incorporated in each vehicle for the conveyance of 16 cwt. of oil or, grease in drums.

Three compartments comprise the tanks, which can, if necessary carry different liquids, and discharge is effected by means of a rotary vane pump, driven from the power take-off. A flowmeter is incorporated in the pipe.

lines, so that all liquid is measured during discharge. The tank can be emptied through the flowmeter by gravity, and the vehicle can be loaded from an outside 'source by means of a branch connection to the suction side of the pump. .

Fairing on each side of the tank produces a smooth appearance and conceals and protects the ancillary equipment.. Tools and the spare wheel are carried at the rear, four 10-ft. lengths of hose are provided and the selector valves and flowmeter are housed in a near-side compartment.

The tank is electrically welded, and has dished and flanged ends, designed to withstand a pressure of 7 lb. per sq. in. A spun-aluminium dome is mounted on each compartment, and below it is the manhole cover plate, containing a pressure-vacuum relief valve, a fill and dip tube and a flame trap. Careful arrangement of the pipe lines has ensured a minimum of contamination when different liquids are carried.
