MR. EWART GUY, director of Guy Motors, Ltd,, has recovered from the severe illness which followed his return last autumn from an extended business tour of Africa, Australia and New Zealand, and has now resumed full duties with the company.
MR, W HEPWORTH, managing director of Hepworth and Grandage. Ltd., has returned to business after an operation. Ma. J. H. MALLINSON, home sales manager, is also back after an illness. MR. R. D. UMPLEBY, director, has returned after a 'visit to New Zealand.
MR. R. THOMSON has retired from his position as manager of the Albion depot at Manchester. He is succeeded by MR. E. M. B. STEWART from the Hull depot, he in turn being replaced by MR. A. C. WATSON of the Bristol depot. Mr. A. P. CLARKE has retired from the managership of the Leeds branch, to be succeeded by MR. A. K. MoNato from the Lincoln depot. ME. 0 B. MARMJAND, formerly at the Sheffield depot, replaces Mr. Monro.
MR. W. D. KINNEAR has been appointed branch manager at Sheffield in succession to MR. C. MELDRUM, Who relinquishes his post for health reasons, but retains his connection with the Albion buying department.
MR. H. CURRINGTON, F.I.T.A.. transport manager of the Sheepbridge Co., Ltd., has just retired after 45 years in its employ. He was first appointed in connection with the company's activities in the early development of extensions of the South Yorkshire coalfield. transport questions concerning which raised many difficult problems. He ultimately became responsible for all transport
matters affecting the company's collieries, as well as its ironworks at Sheepbridge, together with subsidiary and allied undertakings. He was a member of the transport committees of the Mining Association and the Federation of British Industries, and was for 19 years chairman of the Traders' Traffic Conference. He also served on the Departmental Committee set up by the Minister of Transport in 1921 to consider the desirability of granting powers to the railways to carry goods traffic by road.
