Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

• ERF has built a one-off 6x2 low-height shunter for Martin Retail. The nationwide newsagent and convenience store chain's main distribution depot is in Stockport; it runs a fleet of ERE drawbar rigs with demountable bodies.

The demounts stand on retractable legs and the shunter chassis is fitted with an air operated sub-frame which can slide under the body and lift the body clear of the ground with the legs down.

This means the bodies can be moved more quickly to and from the loading bay or to stand awaiting collection.

Other features of the chassis include a low mounted cab, vertical exhaust and automatic transmission. Manoeuvrability is aided by an additional front-mounted kerb mirror.

The shunter has halved the number of demount movements in the depot and cut the time taken to service the loading bays and delivery lines by as much as two hours per day.
