Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

• Some 80% of truck fleets and 97% of bus companies wash their vehicles every day, according to Wilcomatic.

The new survey of 56 CV operators is based on the company's annual review of car washing. The 26 mixed fleet operators it examined run a total of 5,643 vehicles and use 35 washing machines taverage age five years), equating to 162 vehicles per washer.

Food hygiene regulations were a major factor in setting the wash frequency. All the operators surveyed reported washer breakdowns during the past year, and 30% were dis satisfied with the reliability of their washing equipment. They all planned to upgrade their washers within the next five years.

Bus operators had one machine for every 70 vehicles, with an average age of under Iwo years. The average cost of washer repair was £270 with an average downtime of 18 hours. This was acceptable to 90% of bus operators.

Half the bus operators questioned had water reclamation systems, compared with 28% of truck operators. Other trends included a move away from high pressure arches towards rollover washers.
