Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

• Kent owner-driver Geoffrey Wallwork, whose truck was vandalised when he was mistaken for a hit-and-run driver, faces the dole because his bank has refused a bridging loan to rescue his business (CM30Jan-5 Feb).

Last Friday Wallwork received another anonymous threat — it asked if he had "killed any more kids lately". The letter was postmarked Dartford. Two previous threats were hand-delivered.

CM reported last week that Wallwork and his family have been terrorised because he has been mistaken for tipper driver Kevin Taylor whose vehicle hit and killed 11-year-old Darren Owen in Sittingbourne three years ago.

Wallwork has appeared on television to prove he looks nothing like Taylor. who was sentenced to 18-months jail.

Wallwork's Volvo F12 Globe

trotter was immobilised for three weeks after vandals wrecked the cab and ripped out its electrics on 17 January, causing £6,500 worth of damage.

"I'll be thrown on the dole for the sake of a bridging loan," says Wallwork. "The firm I work for is backing me and has offered to reduce my payment terms from 45 to 30 days — it has also offered to ring my bank."

Without a loan Wallwork is unable to pay for fuel to get back to work. He says he has never had an overdraft and has assured the Midland Bank it would get its money back within three months.
