• Folkestone-based FSV Dormobile has built its first PCV on the new Ford Transit chassiscowl and it plans to keep the body price about the same as its squarer-looking predecessor (CM 12-18 Sept 1991).
By the end of March FSV will offer a mobility bus on the chassis, which is available with a two-litre petrol or 2.5-litre diesel engine. In the first year it plans to sell about 300 units.
At present it is fitted with 16 removable seats; there are plans for a 16-20-seater minibus.
The new range has a GRP front, roof and rear to keep its weight down, together with zinc-coated steel body panels. The new body has more glass than its predecessor, and it is not as boxy or van-like in appearance", says FSV.
