• Mercedes-Benz is asking Germany's cartel office to approve its full takeover of Swissbased special vehicle operations subsidiary NAW.
Although 60% of NAW's shares are held by Swiss companies, the German vehicle manufacturing giant has had technical control since 1983.
NAW, formerly Saurer and FBW, has built 12,000 trucks and 2,000 passenger vehicles since 1983; it employs 600 staff.
