Since 1967 Mr. Elliott has been a vice-chairman of the Association. He is also chairman of the South-Western and South Wales division and chairman of the national membership committee. A member of the Association's special committee responsible for all negotiations with the Ministry of Transport on regulations being made under the Transport Act, he presented a detailed paper on the new operators' licensing system at the Association's national conference last autumn.

Mr. Elliott, 47, married with two sons, joined Alcan Industries Ltd., in 1948 and was responsible for the operation of the transport section at the company's Rogerstone plant until his appointment as traffic manager in 1960. Currently he is responsible for all transport and traffic operations for the Alcan Group in the United Kingdom.
