A range of cleaning chemicals now available from the Chemicals Division of Pennsalt has been specially compounded for garages, service stations and the road transport industry. It includes a paint stripper, degreasers, tank and steam cleaners., radiator, tank and boiler descalers, car shampoos, an upholstery cleaner, a wall and tile cleaner, a concrete cleaner and a solvent cleaner for electric motors.

In total there are 11 new products, all except the electric-motor cleaner carrying the name Pennsalt; the odd man out is Electrosolv, This is non-flammable arid electrical components can be immersed direct in the liquid and dried out by blowing with compressed air.

Five chemical cleaners cover all requirements. JC-10 is suitable for powdered concrete and hard-surface floors, It is non-poisonous and nonhazardous, is readily soluble in hot or cold water and safe for use on painted lines and furniture. This product can be used with floor-cleaning machines and will harden and whiten concrete floors. JC-10 contains a pine deodorant as does JC-20 but this is a jelly .type floor and wall cleaner; it is safe for use on tiled and terrazzo floors.

A third cleaner for use inside buildings is JC-30, an all-purpose detergent for walls, floors, paint work and machinery, It can also be used for upholstery cleaning and may be sprayed or swabbed Supplied in highly concentrated form, the detergent can be diluted up to 40 to 1 with water and when rinsed off, leaves no white or sticky deposits.

For cleaning vehicles and components there is A-20, a mild all-purpose detergent suitable for steam gun applications, tank cleaning, truck cleaning etc. And a he:ivy :Lit/ -.1rn cleaning detergent—F-20which should only be used

on steel components. Pennsalt claims that F-20 will rapidly remove and emulsify grease and soil deposits on vehicle chassis. For bodywork cleaning Pennsalt offers a car shampoo that is highly concentrated blit mild to the hands and safe for use as a general purpose detergent. The shampoo contains inhibitors, is readily soluble in water and may be used in all washing equipment as well as by hand.

The final three products are PM-90, an inhibited hydrochloric acid for descaling radiators, tanks and boilers (inhibitors ensure no attack on steel or cast iron), X-16 paint stripper and Bankal, a mild acid detergent which can be used for radiator descaling, rust removal and corrosion deposits from aluminium among other things.
